What makes you proud to work here? People’s strong drive to succeed. Insight is a very dynamic organisation, with everyone aiming for excellence in everything they do. I joined Insight more than 6 years ago, but it still amazes me how committed everyone at Insight is to do the right thing from clients’ perspective and always deliver the best possible outcome. The firm has ambitious growth plans, embraces innovation, encourages everyone to participate, and I feel somewhat privileged to be part of its journey.

What makes Insight a different place to work? Insight offers a high degree of flexibility. One could immerse in whatever they’d like to pursue, shaping their own expertise and path to success. There are many initiatives to get involved in and numerous opportunities, some specifically tailored to Insight’s environment, to develop new skills, both technical and interpersonal. At the end of last year, I asked my direct line manager if I could be mentored by a member of senior management and within a couple of months, all has been arranged and I am now making the most of the opportunity to share experiences and seek guidance from the firm’s COO for North America.

What makes you proud to work here? The role Insight play in ensuring the highest level of service and care is given to our Clients and Pooled Fund investors. We exceed in being a partner to our clients and sharing the desire to help them reach their end goals and objectives.

Since starting my career at Insight, one of the things I have been most impressed with, is the level of diversity that runs through the company, and the ability of all employees to achieve. Insight has a fantastic global family who I am proud to work with, and for.

What makes Insight a different place to work? Insight is a forwarding thinking company with the focus on improvement in all areas, and we do not settle for how things are today, we consider how things will evolve. This leads to an openness to share thoughts and ideas, no matter how small, and for all viewpoints to be discussed and considered.

What makes you proud to work here? There are a number of factors that make me proud to work at Insight.

Our culture: Insight is a business that puts clients first in any decision that it takes. Doing what's right for our clients drives every conversation internally. This really offers clarity in the ultimate objective that we’re all working towards as a team and influences our priorities and focus in any initiatives that we work on.

Our vision: We're ambitious when it comes to the growth of the business; and this flows from our top strategic corporate objectives down to our department and teams' more targeted objectives. What we're working towards collectively is therefore clear and measurable. This clarity allows us to measure our progress regularly and helps us course-correct when needed.

Clarity of our contribution: At all levels, we encourage accountability for the work that we do, and as such our contribution as team members to the firm's strategic objectives are clear. This creates a sense of achievement that drives our daily productivity, ownership of our work and our ambition year on year.

Our people: We're fortunate to be working with colleagues that are leaders in their field, with a high level of expertise in their subject matter. This is incredibly enriching in itself and is further reinforced by Insight's strong top-down view that egos and silo working are not tolerated. Taking a team approach to everything that we do is core to our day to day.

Our leadership: Insight is at a size where employees are not just numbers on the payroll, we are valued contributors to the firm's success. A lot of similarly sized employers describe themselves as flat structured, but the way this is implemented at Insight is different in my view. Our Executive Management Committee (EMC) members have an open-door policy which makes them accessible to all employees, regardless of seniority levels. Similarly, EMC members, including Insight's CEO, will regularly be in attendance on a number of our team meetings. This offers employees a level of visibility that is quite unique to Insight in my view.

What makes Insight a different place to work? Several points mentioned above make Insight, from my perspective, a different place to work at. Of particular note is the strength of our culture and how the rest of the factors, namely a clear vision, team approach, accountability, and access, interact together to create a pleasant work environment that rewards ambition and drives growth, collaboration, execution excellence and a client centric outcome-oriented approach to working.

What makes you proud to work here? I am impressed by the quality of the people and commitment to their profession.

What makes Insight a different place to work? A couple of things stand out relative to prior employers.   First, everyone I have interacted with is motivated to help, no matter the request or time commitment.  This is true across the board, from systems people to investment staff.   Second, folks here are genuinely nice people.  I have yet to meet anyone with an outsized ego or negative attitude.  Finally, Insight colleagues seem to truly enjoy what they do.

What makes you proud to work here? The work ethic and calibre of my colleagues makes me proud to work here. The collective drive of the workforce helps to create an innovative culture which is focused on achieving outcomes for our clients.

What makes Insight a different place to work? Although the organisation has grown significantly in recent years, it has managed to retain the feel of a smaller organisation where everyone knows each other and it is easy to get things done. This helps to increase collaboration which drives productivity.

What makes you proud to work here? I’m proud to be working with such knowledgeable colleagues who, despite there workload, will turn around with a smile to help anyone that needs it. It is easy to talk to any manager about work or life, there is no barrier, there is no wall.

What makes Insight a different place to work? People here are honest, candid and open. The office environment is warm and welcoming, not like a typical stuffy bank at all. Not only that, but the management don’t just quote stats, they walk it, they put their money where it matters. Whether that is about mental health in the workplace, equality, or work-life balance. I feel encouraged and empowered to speak honestly about my experiences, inside and outside the office.

What makes you proud to work here? We are entrusted with the safe-keeping and stewarding of the results of people’s hard work over their lifetime. People and institutions put their trust in us to do the right thing and put their interests first. We are bringing new products and approaches to the US market which is very exciting.

What makes Insight a different place to work? Everyone is very accessible and accommodating. The smaller size of the offices allows interactions for people of all levels and departments of the company. In my experience, everyone is willing to answer questions and lend a hand when asked. What makes you proud to work here? Insight has an excellent reputation in the market, but what I value most about working here is the genuine culture of inclusion and continuous improvement. I am proud to be part of a company full of diverse, high performing employees where I also feel valued and supported as an individual.

What makes Insight a different place to work? What makes Insight unique for me is its position within the BNYM group. I enjoy the benefits and support that come with being part the global institution that is BNYM, but Insight’s relatively small size also lets me feel like my individual contribution has more of an impact on the business as a whole. The range of development opportunities available to employees is also above and beyond what I have experienced elsewhere. Learning and development courses on a wide range of topics are regularly available, which I can fit around my usual work in order to continuously develop and grow in my career.

What makes you proud to work here? Insight has grown to be a respected brand in the industry and has become known as an innovator that delivers and is really client focussed. I’m very proud to have been a part of creating that over the last 10 years and seeing how Insight has evolved.

What makes Insight a different place to work? No two days are the same at Insight. There is great variety in the work, the people I work alongside and the deliverables needed. Above all it’s the people who make Insight the place it is and there is a real sense of unity here as people pull together to make things happen. We are encouraged to strive for excellence, to challenge, to speak up and to learn from mistakes at all levels.

What makes you proud to work here? I’m really proud of our vision. There is dedication to achieving the best possible outcome for our clients and not just from an investment perspective. Having joined as a contractor first, I got to see that before I even knew what our vision was. Whatever situation I am in, I can always say to myself, ‘do the right thing’ and I know the company will have my back.

What makes Insight a different place to work? Insight has a small company feel even though we are part of a very large organization. And for an investment manager with our AUM , we would normally manage several different asset classes but we only manage one and I think that helps us focus and give clarity to the overall mission of the firm.

What makes you proud to work here? Having arrived at Insight directly after University, I am consistently proud of the culture of development that Insight has for colleagues, especially as someone in their early career. From actively being offered training to improve skills, to being included in working groups, and being empowered to own and lead on projects – Insight is a place where you have an opportunity to grow and develop, at any level.

What makes Insight a different place to work? I have found that Insight promotes an environment where accountability and collaboration are key, and everyone can meaningfully contribute to the successes of the organisation.
